V Publishing and developer Bad Ridge Games have released their medieval fantasy life adventure RPG sim, Mirthwood, on Steam for PC.
After a brief delay, Mirthwood is ready to transport players to a world of endless possibilities. Inspired by well-known titles such as Fable, Stardew Valley, Rimworld, and The Sims, the game enables players to start quests, forge relationships, and shape their own story in a world where every choice impacts their destiny.
Gameplay features a homestead where players can build a farm, plant crops, raise animals, and craft items and gear. Exploration of the world is encouraged with six diverse regions and three distinct towns. Travel through areas such as boggy swamps or mystical forests can be done by foot or mount.
Skills improve through actions. Performing these actions will allow access to skill cards that players can equip and unlock powerful modifiers. Become a lovable rogue or a sword-swinging farmer.
Get ready for a fight. Grab a sword or draw a bow in real-time combat. Various enemies lurk throughout the lands of Mirthwood. Find and equip loot. Hunt down rare and powerful items.
Embark on quests in a full simulated world. NPCs go about their daily lives while players enjoy their adventure. Meet and befriend or insult any NPC. Choices will impact the world and shape events to come. Unlock new social interactions as relationships and reputation grow. Recruit companions and pets to go along with the journey.
Recently the developer released an updated roadmap with a new timeline following the game’s delayed launch. The Mirthwood roadmap covers development plans following the game launch through Q2 2025.
