German indie game developer Little Bat Games have released the first free content update for Vampire Therapist. This release is the first in a series of content updates for the game that explores psychotherapy and immortal beings in a gothic visual novel style format.
The first update, titled The Blood of Troy, follows a story about the founding of Rome through the eyes of a vampire. This update will allow players to administer therapy to their 3000-year-old mentor who has their own troubled past history.
Vampire Therapist has touched players in ways we could not have anticipated. With our talented, lean studio, we thought we could scrounge up a nice treat to invite players back into our world to learn more about our oldest vampire.
Cyrus Nemati, Creative Director at Little Bat Games
Two more free content updates are planned for supernatural Vampire Therapist. Spanish Nights is an update that will explore the history of pre-Renaissance Spain and the Fathoms Below update will explore the birth of psychoanalysis. Both updates are scheduled for release in 2024.
Vampire Therapist Availability
Vampire Therapist is available on PC for Windows, Mac, and Linux via Steam and GOG for $14.99. Note that the game carries a mature content notice as it explores sensitive and potentially triggering topics in a historical context such as war, abuse, sexual oppression, and extremism along with topics about blood as this is a game about vampires.
