Publisher Whitethron Games and solo developer sKaule will be releasing their Metroidvania-lite meets cooking game, Magical Delicacy, on Nintendo Switch next week. Already available on PC, Xbox, and Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch will soon be able to join in on the charming world of magic, mystery, and delicacies.
Play as a young witch named Flora, who travels to the adventurer’s seaside town of Grat. Set on developing her magical skills to become a full-fledged witch, upon arriving in town Flora sets up a shop to cook meals and brew potions.
Comprised of charming locals, mysterious travelers, legendary figures, and masters of their craft, the town is full of quirky characters. Through her explorations, Flora will discover their stories and learn all the town’s secrets.
Collect ingredients from various shops around town. Forage around for other ingredients or grow them in the garden. Cook magical delights in the kitchen by using a variety of tools and then deliver the tasty meals to hungry townsfolk. Purchase new equipment and upgrade the kitchen to create additional dishes. Fulfill orders by using the extensive cooking system that allows for flexible and creative choice. Each created and served dish presents an opportunity to experience this unique magical world.
Inspired by Metroidvanias and cozy anime classics like Kiki’s Delivery Service, this 2D non-violent game is a wholesome adventure set in an enchanting pixel art world with a variety of accessibility features.
Magical Delicacy Availability
On August 15, 2024, the Magical Delicacy launches on Nintendo Switch.
Magical Delicacy is currently available on Windows PC via Steam, and on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for $24.99. The game is also be available on Xbox Game Pass. Supported languages include: English, French, German, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
The Magical Delicacy soundtrack is available on Steam, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora, Tidal, and Deezer. Full of relaxing tunes and orchestrated melodies, this soundtrack compliments the magical witchy world presented in the game.
