Publisher Tripwire Presents and developer Torn Banner Studios have released the Regicide Update for the violent blood-filled multiplayer first-person medieval slasher Chivalry 2. This update delivers a brand new map, campaign pass, unique polearm weapon, and new customizations.
Regicide at Trayan Citadel is a brand new epic map with cinematic moments and a clash between kings. The big showdown between the Mason Order and Agathian army is at the Mason’s doorstep. Starting outside the walls with the assaulting Agathian army, the battle begins by taking the outer encampment and escorting a ram to breach the front gates. Inside the soldiers will battle through the citadel. At Malric Castle, King Malric himself will take to the battlefield setting the stage for an epic battle.
Goedendag is a a new polearm with unique properties. Usable by Poleman and Engineer Footman classes, this weapon trades a longer reach for more versatility by dealing both blunt damage and piercing damage. Properly timed special attacks can deal massive damage to horses, effectively stopping them in their tracks.
The Regicide Campaign Pass allows players to complete challenges and earn in-game rewards such as currency and armor items. Unlike traditional battle passes, the Regicide Campaign Pass will not expire, allowing players to progress at their own pace. To upgrade to the Premium Campaign Pass players will need to spend 1,000 in-game crowns.
A variety of new cosmetic options, including four new armor set options, are available to unlock in the update. There are also five new weapon skins, a new helmet, and much more to unlock.
Included in the Chivalry 2 Regicide update are additional bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and performance improvements. A more comprehensive list of changes in the update can be found on the Chivalry 2 website here.
