Hellcard Launch Trailer Teases New Content

Skystone Games and independent game developer Thing Trunk have released the Hellcard Launch Trailer ahead of the game’s February launch. The trailer teases a new class and other content for the roguelike card game Book of Demons spin-off.

Building on its predecessor, Hellcard allows players to go at it alone or with up to 3 players in multiplayer co-op gameplay. Engage in intense dynamic card battles in the procedurally generated dark dungeon depths. If one does fall, the roguelike gameplay elements will give one a chance to comeback even stronger.

In the Hellcard Launch Trailer viewers can see the new Tinkerer class. Joining the Warrior, Rogue, and Mage classes, the Tinkerer finds success when magic and wit fail with its science and gunpowder. The Tinkerer class brings a fresh perspective to the underworld and adds another layer of gameplay depth, allowing players to develop innovative strategies to overcome the dungeon’s challenges.

The video also teased an assortment of challenging foes. Skeleton archers, disgraced priests, exploding demons, and time-controlling gods are just some of the threats that await. Those who beat back these threats may discover hidden lore and create a tale worthy of a bard’s song.

Set in the unique award-winning pop-up dark and immersive Paperverse book world, the game features a distinct art style alongside its unique challenges and mysteries. Hellcard is a spin-off from Book of Demons, a title that has seen more than 1 million copies sold.

Since the game’s Early Access launch in February 2023, Hellcard has gathered nearly 1500 Steam reviews with a “Very Positive” rating. In addition, the free to play Hellcard: Prologue has seen over 350 reviews with a “Very Positive” rating.

Hellcard Availability

Save the date as the official version 1.0 release date for Hellcard is February 1, 2024. Hellcard is currently available in Early Access on PC via Steam for $19.99.

A Hellcard: Prologue is available free to play on Steam that allows players to try the game’s singleplayer and multiplayer modes.
