Indie Slovak developer Centurion Developments have released the latest teaser trailer for Forgotten but Unbroken, a turn-based strategy game set in World War II. The challenging game takes inspiration from XCOM while offering its own unique take on the genre.

From changing load-outs seamlessly to strategic use of cover and elevated positions, the teaser trailer emphasizes the pulse of war. In the game, players manage their base, strategically position their units, and lead a resistance group of international heroes against the Axis forces. Players can build their team from six classes: Commando, Heavy Gunner, Medic, Sapper, Sniper, and Soldier.
Impress allies through smart strategic actions and receive their aid in the form of money, supplies, and resources. Really impress the allies and one may be sent some elite units to fight alongside the team. Both sides feature famous combatants and elite fighters such as Jack “Mad Jack” Churchill, Vasily Zaitsev, Tommy “The killted killer” MacPherson, Audie Murphy, Otto Skorzeny, Josef Allerberger, and others.
Inspired by real events from WWII, players participate in Commander Martin’s story of resistance as told by an old WWII survivor who shared a room with the game’s head of development in a Slovak hospital.
Each character is voiced in their native language adding to the immersive experience. The use of native languages also falls in line with the developers push for historical authenticity as the game includes historical WWII heroes who fought against the elite fighters of the Third Reich and other Axis forces to liberate Europe.
Forgotten but Unbroken Availability
Forgotten but Unbroken is planned for a summer 2024 release on Windows PC via Steam. Interested players can wishlist and follow the game now on Steam.
A Forgotten but Unbroken Demo from last October’s Steam Next Fest is still available on Steam. This free demo features 3 different skirmishes where players try to fend off the advance of the Third Reich.
