Dragonis Games have fully released their Lovecraftian co-op horror game, Eresys, on PC. The Early Access exit to full release version 0.8 includes Innsmouth, the new cursed fishing village map.
Innsmouth is the third playable map added to Eresys. The fishing village is plagued by a strange curse. Any light that cultists would use to defend themselves is immediately broken. Players are tasked with lifting the powerful curse.
Few NPCs inhabit the streets of Innsmouth. Normally empty of otherworldly beings, the village will quickly populate with a horde of sea creatures, the fishmen of the depths, to stop any who attempts to life the curse. Direct confrontation is not an option as they will devour anyone that they deem unfit for the village. Players must remain sharp and be ready to find hiding spots when necessary.
The developer intends for Innsmouth to have a slower game pace than that of the Abyssal Temple map. Player feedback may still be used to make any necessary changes.
A new unlockable mask, the Aspect of the Depths, is available. To obtain this mask, players must complete a mission on the Innsmouth map on either difficulty.
Other additions in the Eresys 0.8 full release include three new achievements, Cultist grunt sound effect when struck, new cult guide sections for Innsmouth, texture bug fixes, lightning VFX and SFX tweaks, and several other gameplay balancing adjustments and fixes.
While Innsmouth is the last piece of content originally planned for the game, the door is not closed for additional new content or game support. In the coming months, players can still expect small patches with fixes and minor tweaks for the game. With the full release of Eresys, the team is now shifting its focus on the Dragonis Games’ next project Necrophosis. The developer plans to have a playable demo for Necrophosis in a few months as the game have been in development in the background and is now beyond the concept stage.
