Madmind Studio has released a new gameplay video, titled Paranoid: Nightwalk, for their upcoming deep psychological survival-horror adventure title, Paranoid.
Take a terrifying nighttime stroll through a 1980’s city. In the Paranoid: Nightwalk gameplay trailer viewers are presented with a section of the city where Patrick Calman, the story’s main character lives. The gameplay video follows the 31-year-old protagonist in his desperate attempt to reach the pharmacy and purchase medication to alleviate his schizophrenia symptoms.
Patrick is faced with a difficult decision with his paranoid schizophrenia. Does he stay home without medication and uncover the dark secret of his neighbor, or does he venture out to buy his medicine and meet his long missing sister who recently resurfaced?
Players get to determine the course of Patrick’s story through their choices. Patrick may face a world of his own demons locked away in his apartment or he can take a stroll through the city and discover an alternative set of events. Gameplay progresses down two paths where a simple decision of staying or leaving an apartment will have profound affects of Patrick’s fate.
Each of the two story paths are rich in content. Patrick’s parents died brutally to mysterious circumstances. His sister suddenly disappeared for unknown reasons. All of this trauma shattered his psyche and Patrick’s apartment is now his prison. Now after 10 years, his sister calls and forces Patrick to step out of his life of isolation all the while exposing himself to borderline maddening experiences.
