Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive have release their annual Halloween update, titled Last Hans Standing, for Killing Floor 2. The update is the latest free content update for the brutal gore-filled first-person co-op shooter.
Venture to Castle Volter, the new map follows mercenaries who have tracked down the seemingly immortal Dr. Hans Volter. Located deep in the Bavarian Alps, this castle is home to the originator of Horzine’s cloning technology. The new map supports Survival, Endless, and Weekly modes.
During the Last Hans Standing event, players can tackle five in-game objectives related to Castle Volter. Each objective rewards 150,000 Vault Dosh. Completing all five objectives during the event will reward mercenaries with a special Volter-themed weapon skin for the MKB Assault Rifle. The Last Hans Standing event ends on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 10 AM PDT.
Bounty Hunt is a new weekly game mode. This mode has a fixed number of Bounty Zeds that spawn at the beginning of each wave. These Bounty Zeds are tougher than their regular counterparts and will make an effort to avoid mercenaries. Players will want to quickly hunt down and eradicate Bounty Zeds as the longer they roam the map the more dangerous they become. Upon completion of a successful Bounty Hunt while the weekly mode is active will earn players a special Bounty Hunt weapon skin for the Desert Eagle.
New free and paid weapons are included in the update. The MG3 Shredder Machine Gun with five weapon skins is available as paid DLC. Players who own the Ultimate Edition or Armory Season Pass 2 will receive the skin for free. In addition a new free HRG 93R Pistol has been introduced.
Cosmetics galore. Three new weapon skin bundles, the Chameleon MKIV Weapon Skin Bundle, Medieval MKII Weapon Skin Bundle, and Spectre HRG MK II Weapon Skin Bundle, along with one outfit bundle, the Last Stand Uniform are included for free for players who have the current Cosmetic Season Pass.
To celebrate the Halloween holiday and the Killing Floor 2 Last Hans Standing update, Tripwire Interactive will be participating in several Halloween themed sales and special promotions across the various platform stores. Players will want to follow the developer’s social media channels for more information on these promotions.
In 2022, Killing Floor 2 gave players a spooky medieval treat with the Blood and Bonfires update. The Day of the Zed took over the Netherhold community map and Halloween in 2021.
