Toplitz Productions and developer Bitfall Studios have released the Foundation Update for their Early Access card deck city builder game, TerraScape.
The update adds new merged buildings, completing the Foundation development milestone on the game’s Early Access roadmap. These four new merged buildings include Vineyard, Mining Enclave, Fish Farm, and Forest Settlement. A new reward mechanic for merged buildings spawns resources on surrounding tiles.
The Foundation update for TerraScape gives players more ways to maximize their score and the new merged buildings also provide a strategic scoring opportunity, as well as adding to the visual aesthetic of the game.

New Action Cards have been introduced to the card deck. This new card type has a special effect or action associated with it. Unique Action Cards offer special strategic values such as resource generation. For example is the Place Iron card.
Map Overlays have arrived. The overlays show a hexagon grid allowing players to clearly see the world’s surface and building locations. Overlays also enables players to find valuable resources and open building titles. When building, influencing buildings are highlighted.
Three new hard terra maps are now available for Freeplay and Multiplayer. Players can now use the new Undo button feature to undo their last building placement. Several other bug fixes, balancing changes, and quality of life improvements have made their way into the update. A more complete list of changes in the TerraScape Foundation Update can be found in this developer here.
Going forward, more content updates are planned that will introduce new maps, challenges, modes, and buildings. The next major planned content feature will be the Meta Update which introduces co-operative multiplayer, new decks, unique map features, map generation improvements, and gameplay refinements. This next content update will be added later this year during the game’s Early Access development phase.
