Midnight Ghost Hunt Update 2, Free Weekend

Coffee Stain Publishing and Vaulted Sky Games have released Update 2 for their multiplayer hide-and-seek prop game, Midnight Ghost Hunt. To celebrate Update 2 and its new map Carnival, the Early Access game is having a free weekend and a 50% off discount on Steam.

Update 2 comes with a range of new content including the brand new Carnival map, new host ability, new hunter skins, new titles, and new hero props. The Carnival map takes place at Mr. Giggle’s Happyland, a theme park filled with terrors. This festival of fear includes all the carnival classics: merry-go-round, arcade, wild west salon, bumper cars, and of course a haunted mansion filled with dangerous animatronics.

Ghosts receive the new Deflector ability. This wispy shield can be summoned to deflect incoming projectiles. The shield lasts for 5 seconds and will be cancelled if the player attacks similar to Phantom. Deflector gives players new opportunities to revive a teammate, consume a Hunter’s soul, or get away from danger. It should be noted that the projectiles still hit somewhere else as they deflect off the side of the shield.

Three brand new Hunter skins are in the update: Paramedic, Pilot, and Old Hippie. New hero props can be seen in the Update 2 trailer. Two that stand out are the bumper cars and eerie Jack-in-the-boxes. Four new titles are available for those who complete the in-match challenges. A new song, “Flight of the Kite” has been added to the Midnight Ghost Hunt soundtrack.

Previously in May of this year, Update 1 arrived adding the Doll Factory map, new hero props, and several item and ability reworks. A more complete list of changes in the Midnight Ghost Hunt Update 2 can be found on the Dev Blog post here.

The free weekend event runs from September 22, 2022, until September 26, 2022. During the free weekend the game is also being offer at a 50% discount. This discount also applies to the Early Backer Bundle, Early Backer Pack, and soundtrack on Steam. Don’t worry about any progress made during the free weekend event as it will carry over for those who purchase the game.

Midnight Ghost Hunt is available in Early Access for Windows PC via Humble Bundle and Steam for $19.99. An Early Backer Bundle is available on Humble Bundle and Steam that includes the base game, Early Backer DLC pack, and soundtrack.
