Medieval Dynasty is Chasing Windmills in Latest Update

Toplitz Productions and developer Render Cube have added windmills to their 3D medieval survival RPG Medieval Dynasty. The implementation of windmills adds one of the most anticipated community and roadmap features to the game.

Meant to simplify life, the windmill is the ultimate building of the Farming Technology tree. Windmills allow players to produce twice as much flower. Besides the increased production, the windmill aesthetic helps players with their immersive in-game experience. These buildings will tower above their settlements creating a rustic medieval village skyline.

At the start of this past February, a developer diary had teased the implementation of windmills. While windmills are at the center of this Medieval Dynasty update, dozens of new decorative items have came with the update too. Fresh housing modules, decorative items, and customizations will help improve the look and feel of one’s home. Vases, shelves, and even window shutters are just a few to name.

Over 30 new locations of interest have been generated on the map. Several new animations and effects have made their way into the game. Stallholder and Beekeeper animations are an example.

Falling trees will now make more sounds. The doppler effect is now applied to sounds of falling trees and ranged weapons. Players can also hear a reverb effect for falling trees. Putting items into and taking items out of one’s inventory will play new sounds.

The invisible chicory is now visible. Animal shadows should no longer flicker. Stone deposit state and cut tree progress should now properly be saved. Various rendering optimizations, systems optimizations, and RAM optimizations have made their way as the game has been updated to Unreal Engine 4.27.2.

A more complete list of additions, fixes, and changes in the update is available here.

Medieval Dynasty is available on Windows PC through Humble BundleSteam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Microsoft Store for $34.99 USD. A Medieval Dynasty Digital Supporter Pack containing various digital goodies including the original Medieval Dynasty soundtrack is also available for $7.99 USD.
