Iceberg Interactive and independent developer Bad Viking released their plant shop mystery game, Strange Horticulture, digitally on Windows PC. Collecting and cataloguing powerful and strange plants is just the beginning of the story.
Rugged mountains and hag-infested forests surround the quaint town of Undermere. As the proud owner of a local plant store, Strange Horticulture, players utilize their horticulture skills to identify, collect, and catalogue powerful new plants. The area is filled with an interesting cast of characters who will visit the shop from time to time. Their visits bring forth an occult mystery that reaches back through the centuries.
To find new plants, players will want to explore the surrounding lands. Caution is advised as the dark woods and lakes are not always friendly. Using context clues one can determine which places to avoid and which places to visit. When out exploring there is no telling what one may find or even lose. Will one find a powerful new plant or simply lose their mind?
Each new discovery allows players to expand their knowledge of these strange plants. A trusty encyclopedia and found clues on excursions aids in the identification of plants. These plants then can be used to influence the story with things such as powerful poisons and hypnotic hallucinogens. Don’t forget to pet the cat.
A demo of the game is available during the Big Adventure Event 2022 on Steam. When the event ends on January 24, 2022 the demo will no longer be available.
Strange Horticulture is available on PC for Windows through GOG, Steam, and Epic Games Store for $14.99 USD. A limited time there is a 10% launch discount runs until January 28, 2022. More information about Strange Horticulture can be found on the developer’s website here.
