Wired Productions and cult video game developer Nosebleed Interactive released a demo for Arcade Paradise during Steam Next Fest. The demo takes players through their first day at King Wash Laundromat and is only available until for a limited time.
Set in the 1990s players, as young charismatic Ashley, work at their father’s self-service laundry business. Her father Gerald, voiced by Doug Cockle who also voiced Geralt of The Witcher series, has handed her the keys as he has taken off for the Riviera. Now tasked with the day-to-day activities of washing rags, Ashley has decided it is time for a change.
The family business still involves quarters, but instead of them going into a washing machine they are being dropped into arcade game slots. To build the perfect arcade paradise players will need to play, profit and purchase one of the 35 arcade games to choose from. Playing the games allows one to set high scores and then challenge customers to beat them. Any profits can be used to purchase new cabinets driving more customers to the arcade. All of the games are original and are inspired by classics from the arcade era. Several can be spotted in the trailer.
A demo for Arcade Paradise is available on the game’s Steam page until October 11, 2021.
Arcade Paradise is heading to PC through Steam and GOG in addition to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in Spring 2022. More information about Arcade Paradise can be found on the publisher’s website here.
