The Irregular Corporation and Foxy Voxel released their colony city building sim, Going Medieval, in early access at the start of June. Available on Humble Bundle, Epic Games Store, Steam, and GOG the game is launching with a 10% discount.
Going Medieval offers a unique blend of building, management, and survival that transports players all the way back to the Dark Ages. Set in a world that is recovering from a plague, the story puts the emerging survivors at the forefront. Now it is up to the player to help the survivors settle in dangerous lands that nature has reclaimed along with a lawless post-calamity era.
Players are in control of a colony during one of the most dangerous periods of human history. One will need to navigate the dangers or they will perish like all those who came before them. From rival factions to the elements, there are many challenges one will face. To defend the settlers and colony, places will want to build fortresses, strategically placed traps and archers. Remember that happy settlers are productive settlers. The game offers near infinite replayability as no two playthroughs are the same.
With the early access release of Going Medieval the developer, Foxy Voxel, released a roadmap of things to come. In the coming weeks and months the roadmap lists several features players can expect to see including accumulating snow, ruins, natural caves, fire, flammability, organic dirt paths, trading, merchants, caravans, settlement diplomacy, settler social interactions, vassal system, mounted siege weaponry, raiding, map factions, prisoner system, grand objectives, religious influence, animal husbandry and more.
