Tactical Adventures has released their first early access big update, the Winter Update, to the party-based tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister. In addition new players have more places where they can purchase the game with Solasta now available over at GOG.
It is time for the Winter Update that features hours of new gameplay. In the update a completely new area along with quests along with an overhaul of the lighting system give players plenty to do. New combat features, food optimization, scavenger mechanics, and more customization options are just a small taste of vast list of changes in the patch. A full list of patch notes for the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Winter Update is available here.
Out of all of the changes the inventory improvements offer some of the biggest quality of life changes to the game in this patch. Items can be double clicked to loot and equipped. The party shares their wealth allowing for easier shopping. A second quiver now allows for easier switching between regular and magical arrows. Looting now opens a much smaller window and sizeable area looting lets players loot those body piles faster than ever.
The new scavenger system or rather Scavenger Faction allows players to drop by Caer Cyflen and then send out the best scavengers to loot the areas the player has cleared. Their services are just beginning and will be further developed with time.
For those unfamiliar with Solasta, the tactical RPG utilizes a license granted by Wizards of the Coast to Tactical Adventures to use the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 content and rules. Light is an important tool in the world and can be used as a weapon while also giving away one’s position. Unlike other games, Solasta features elements of verticality offering even more strategical options. Each character plays a critical role in the turn-based combat campaign. Every decision puts the individual characters on a path where they could be the hero or point of failure for the group.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister is available in early access on Steam and GOG for $34.99 USD. Until December 22, new players can pick up the game with a 20% discount. A Supporter DLC Pack is available for $9.99 USD that shows support for the game and adds additional content such as dice with special effects at 1.0 launch. More information about Solasta: Crown of the Magister can be found on the game’s website at solasta-game.com or the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Discord.
