Tactical Adventures has released their party-based tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister in early access on Steam. In the early access campaign there are brand new elements of verticality with over 10 hours of authentic team-based tabletop gameplay.
The tactical RPG adventure utilizes a license granted by Wizards of the Coast to Tactical Adventures to use the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 content and rules. Previously players had a chance to play demos for Solasta at the Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition and during Gamescom 2020. In these demos players were able to experience the important of each character and how they play a critical role in the turn-based combat campaign. Each decision made put the individual characters on a path where they could be the hero or point of failure for the group.
In the world of Solasta light is an important tool. Light can be used as a weapon against creatures of the dark, however, it can also give away the party’s position to all of the other nasty creatures that lurk in the darkness. Other elements of the world make it both dynamic and mysterious. Verticality allow players to use the surrounding environmental elements as a part of their strategy when progressing through dungeons. From positioning ranged characters at vantage points to sending their thief down dark passages to scout ahead the world offers many different playable tactics.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister is now available in early access on Steam for the price of $34.99 USD. A special early access launch discount runs until October 27 that reduces the game’s price by 15%. In addition there is a Supporter DLC Pack for $9.99 USD that not only shows support for the game, but adds additional content such as dice with special effects at 1.0 launch. More information about Solasta: Crown of the Magister can be found on the game’s website at solasta-game.com or the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Discord.
