Indie game developer Allaith Hammed “ZAX” and publisher Headup ahead of gamescom 2020 has released the first public announcement of TinyShot and a game trailer. The 2D arcade shooter features roguelike action from a tiny boy who makes a deal with the devil.
In the game players play as a tiny boy. To become famous, loved and generally awesome, Tiny made a deal with Satan to recover his lost horn. The underworld of the game is filled with cute yet tortured creatures in which players must travel.
Each level equips the player with guns and melee weapons to conquer and eliminate the waves of enemies in the area. On the battlefield various random items can be picked up to aid in the journey. Mechanics such as the grapple gun and dash aid in moving around the environment. In the game dodging and avoiding enemies is equally important as it is to blast them into oblivion.
The art aesthetic of TinyShot, as shown in the trailer below, combines a mix of realistic nature elements and cartoonish characters and creatures. Overall the game’s feel was designed to satisfy the player while still presenting challenging boss battles and enemies.
From the minute I met Allaith for the first time, I was blown away by the high level of passion and love he is putting in his games. TinyShot breathes the spirit of a greatly talented young creator’s mind, who hasn’t been spoiled by mainstream standards yet. TinyShot is a wild, chaotic over-the-top ride. If this game was music, I’d called it pure punk.
