Publisher Iceberg Interactive along with indie developer GhostShark Games released psychological adventure Still There today on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The story of Still There follows Karl Hamba on board the Bento space station. Players find themselves managing the day-to-day routines of Bento that acts as an isolated space-lighthouse. Then on a regular day a mysterious radio message is received that forces players into action where they will confront a long-buried truth that Karl has been hiding from.
In the psychological immersive narrative laid out before players they will encounter technical puzzles and space station management while dealing with themes of grief and guilt. And as an added bonus a temperamental and sometimes hilarious AI named Gorky is there for the journey. In the end players will ask how much are they will to sacrifice to rescue Karl and his loved ones?
Still There is more than a simple game to us – it has had a profound impact on our lives. It has been the fulfilment of a promise that was told to the child version of ourselves, and has been an important test of our own feelings. It has required many compromises and struggles and has, without a doubt, left its mark on us. Parts of us will always be in the game, and players across the world will experience our most intimate selves while playing Still There. We hope it will leave an impact on them too.
Davide Barbieri, GhostShark Games Project Lead
Filled with retro graphics and visuals the game evokes a feeling of nostalgia for the point and click adventure. Music for Still There was composed Ben Burnes. The game was a collaboration of Davide Barbieri, Daniele Giardini and Gaetano Leonardi.
Still There is now available at Humble Bundle, GOG, and Steam for PC or Mac and the Nintendo Switch at a price of $14.99 USD. The latest information about Still There can be found on the game’s website at stillthere.ghostshark.it.
