Chapter 4 for Edge Of Eternity named “The Man Who Survived the Corrosion” is out today for the early access game. This is the fourth free major update for the JRPG title from developer Midgar Studio and publisher Dear Villagers.
Released into early access in December of 2018, Edge Of Eternity, has seen a steady stream of updates such as the third major update titled “The Reunion” that brought hours more of additional gameplay content. Full details of Midgar Studio’s early access plans for Edge Of Eternity can be read on the game’s Steam page here.
In this fourth chapter of the turn-based JRPG adventure, around six hours of new gameplay content has been added. The update expands the story with the centerpiece being the new sci-fi city hub of Tyr Caelum. Included with the update is a host of other new locations such as a jungle area, refugee village, new dungeon called The Junkyard, and several side-quests. Each of these new features help to further bring the rich world of Heryon even more to life.
The game’s story follows Daryon and Selene as they work to cleanse a new threat of an all-consuming corrosion afflicting the world. Players wage epic turn-based battles in a world ravaged by war as they fight to save the world and its people.
Choices matter and have consequences in the game. Quests can be solved multiple ways each with their own effects. Players should expect to experience a grand tale of hope and sacrifice that is filled with plot twists and heart-wrenching moments.
Currently Edge Of Eternity is being developed by a 9-person indie team at Midgar Studio. They are taking influences from both Japanese and Western RPGs. The game features a stunning soundtrack that includes contributions from Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles composer Yasunori Mitsuda.
