Bring on the stretch goals for the Kickstarter project ENCODYA which reached its main funding goal with now two weeks left.
ENCODYA is a point and click adventure set in a dystopian future. The game is being developed by Nicola Piovesan and Chaosmonger Studio and being published by Assemble Entertainment. This is the first big game project for Chaosmonger Studio, the award winning film production company. Being from the world of cinema the developers are committed to high quality standards and pledge to apply these standards to all elements of the game including acting, music, sound immersion, storyline, and visual aesthetics.
Main characters are voiced by professional voice actors. Guest star Richard Epcar, who voiced Raiden in Mortal Kombat and The Joker in several Batman games, and Lizzie Freeman known for Sword Art Online and Fire Emblem Heroes are included in the voice work.
An original soundtrack created by the Canadian composer Yann Latour is featured in ENCODYA. Sound design is headed by Phil Michalski who is known for his sci-fi sound libraries.
The story of ENCODYA takes place in 2062 and follows Tina a nine year old orphan. She lives with SAM-53 who is her big clumsy robot guardian. Both live inside of a rooftop makeshift shelter located in the dark corporate controlled megalopolis Neo-Berlin. As an urban jungle kid, Tina has learned to live alone while surviving on scraps and scavenging from dumpsters. Her funny robot is always at her side and programmed to protect Tina no matter what happens.
Key features include over six hours of gameplay. There are two payable characters. Additionally there are 30 plus NPCs with more than 5000 lines of dialogue in more than 50 locations. ENCODYA features original art and assets alongside its original soundtrack, custom sound design, and professional voice actors.
Full funding for ENCODYA was reached when the campaign hit €27,500 or roughly $30,000 USD. The first stretch goal is at €32,500 or about $36,000 USD which will add Italian, German, and Spanish text translations. At €45,000 or approximately $50,000 USD a full hour of extra gameplay will be added to the game with more locations, puzzles, and characters. At the time of this articles publication the project has raised €30,164 or $32,989 USD.
The ENCODYA Kickstarter campaign runs until 11 AM PDT Tuesday, September 17, 2019. A one hour long gameplay demo is available for free on Itch.io where it has received over 4000 downloads with an average score rating of 4.8 out of 5. ENCODYA also has a Steam page where players can add the game to their wishlist.
Chaosmonger Studio is an award winning multimedia production company based out of Estonia. The studio has taken part in several prestigious festivals from around the world such as Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, Shanghai Film Festival, and Kiev Short Film Festival. In addition the studio has worked with brands like Nike, Century Media, Heineken and has won more than 40 awards.
Assemble Entertainment (@AssembleTeam Twitter) is an independent game publisher based out of Wiesbaden, Germany. The company is also the organizer of GermanDevDays a conference that allows game developers, industry experts, students, and visitors a framework to get to know each other and make connections.
