Now one year after Eleventh Hour Games successful Kickstarter campaign, the Last Epoch Beta now has a release date on Steam. The Beta for the time travel based dungeon crawling action RPG is set to launch April 30, 2019.
The action role playing game (ARPG) genre is about to see a new competitor as Last Epoch offers players the familiar experience with a new spin on the genre. Skill specialization trees in Last Epoch offer the essential customization options of ARPGs while still separating decisions and overloading players. A fundamental design trait of Last Epoch is for the game to be easy to learn, but difficult to master as players progress on their adventure.
In the Beta players will get a look at the Monolith of Fate, the first major endgame system for Last Epoch. Players will be able to explore alternate timelines that contain new and deadly encounters where choices will shape their journey. A sequence of zones with randomized enemies and objectives composes these alternate timelines. At the end of each area players are offered two options that add new modifiers to the next zones. These alternate timelines are filled with unpredictability and dangerous enemies, however untold treasures are waiting for those who dare to enter.
An additional 2.5 chapters of story has been added to the Beta bringing a total of 5 chapters now. There are two new Mastery Classes that bring new lore and combat styles, the Paladin and the Druid, in addition to the 12 new skills and 6 new skill trees that have been added.
The Paladin is a holy warrior who charges shield first into combat. Judgement is cast upon enemies while the Paladin surrounds itself with Sigil of Hope warding off the wicked. Holy Aura can be used to fortify allies while Sky Bolts are used to smite foes.
Druids have a connection to Eterra that flourishes and grows wild. Players will command the might of the forest by taking form of the Spriggan or transforming into a mighty Werebear. As a Werebear players are able to maul enemies with primal strength. As an avatar of Eterra’s latent power, Druids stand as a bastion against all those that threaten her.
Last Epoch Beta will be available on Steam, April 30, 2019 for Windows, Linux, and macOS which will support offline-only and online-only characters. For more information visit the game’s website at lastepochgame.com.
