DarkStone Digital launched their sci-fi horror puzzle game The Subject, today, November 30, 2018.
Inspired by classic puzzle adventure titles of the 90s and combined with late 70s and 80s sci-fi visuals, The Subject aims to bring a different feel to indie horror games. Players experience a free to roam design meant to allow the player to complete things the way they want.
However, all is not safe. The player is a prisoner who was purchased at auction from a commercial prison to be a test subject for an experiment at BioMass Labs. There also seems to be a monster roaming the halls of the complex. Players should do their best to avoid it if they want their character to live.
Various events are being held over the launch weekend over various social media and streaming services such as Twitch and Mixer which are giving away free copies.
The Subject is available on Steam for Windows at $9.99 USD. A special 20% off launch promotion runs until December 7 for $7.99 USD.
DarkStone Digital (Follow on Twitter) was founded by Brian Clarke (Follow on Twitter). Clarke has over 13 years of experience in the AAA game space. After working at larger studios, he left to work on co-development of the indie title Welcome to the Game II with Reflect Studios. After launch, Clarke founded DarkStone Digital in 2017 and started creation of their flagship title The Subject.
