Facepunch Studios is back again but this time with a bullet hell shooter in the pixel world of Chippy that is out now on Steam.
This colorful arcade style game is brought to players by the developers of the hit favorites Gary’s Mod and Rust. In Chippy players are presented competitive challenges where aiming, dodging, shooting, and obliterating the 14 multi-form bosses are critical for success and reaching the top of the leaderboard. Powerups are there to help whether the player decides to play offensively or defensively.
Chippy features huge retro-style bosses that rain down insane amounts of firepower. Players are able to destroy them by chipping away at them and slicing off bigger and bigger sections, pixel-by-pixel. The boss is defeated once the core is destroyed.
The action is fast. The pace is fast. The difficulty is hard and players will die. Like die a lot, but each death is a lesson learned. Players can hop right back into the action as the game doesn’t waste time on cutscenes and the tutorial is skippable.
Replays with slow motion and fast forward are available to let the player re-watch and learn. Watch replays from other players as well and comment on the action.
Chippy is available now on Steam for Windows PC at a price of $14.99 USD. A 10% discount launch promotion runs until June 21, 2019. More information on the game can be found at chippy.facepunch.com.
