Blackout, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s popular battle royale mode, is currently available to download and play for free during the Blackout Free Trial. The free trial event lasts until January 24, 2019.
The Blackout Free Trial features solo, duo, or quad gameplay across land, sea, and air. This game mode combines characters, locations, weapons and gear from across the series all on the biggest map in the franchise.
The community response to Blackout has been incredible, and we love watching how players have really made the mode their own, evolving game play to a new level. We can’t wait to welcome new players to experience the unique Black Ops style of battle royale in Blackout.

All progress made and earned in-game items are saved to the players account and will be immediately accessible upon upgrading to the full game.
During the Blackout Free Trial a playlist called “Down But Not Out” will be live. This mode is available for quads and allows eliminated team members to wingsuit back into the game with each new collapse except for the final circle. Down But Not Out is live now on the PS4, and will go live on other platforms to follow.
The Blackout Free Trial begins today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC exclusively on Blizzard Battle.net and runs until 10 AM PST January 24, 2019.
