The stealth-action sandbox parody, Sipssassin, marks the debut of solo developer Simmering Studios with their self-published title hitting Steam this May. Featuring a 2D hand-drawn stylized noir world, this zany adventure mocks humorless stealth tropes, tasking players with swiping drinks to foil a global beverage conspiracy.
Gameplay Details
In Sipssassin, you’re a Sipssassin battling the Drinkceptionists, a dastardly crew out to drinkcept every last latte and dominate the world. Its gloriously bonkers premise dares players to run, brawl, skulk, and slurp through wild levels.

Master four distinct modes:
- Sipstraction: Nab 6 drinks unseen.
- Happy Hour: Guzzle drinks galore in 2 minutes (or more).
- Drinkvestigate: Unmask the hidden Drinkceptionist.
- Exploration: Chat with oddballs, tackle quests, and hunt unlockables.

- Unlock 25 unique characters and explore 5 secret-stuffed missions.
- Wield 6 legendary drinks and gadgets, from power-ups to a milkshake-slurping straw.

- Slip into disguises for sneaky access to restricted areas.
World and Atmosphere
Expect wacky NPCs, bizarre banter, and “Yeet3,” an alternate dimension in-game expo. With secrets aplenty, Sipssassin earned an “Official Selection” at the Next Indie Direct Showcase (June 2024) for its cheeky charm.

Developer Insights
Solo developer Alex Vollmann pours his heart into Sipssassin, blending stealth genre game elements with mixology flair. “This game came out of the love I have for stealth games like Splinter Cell, early Assassin’s Creed games and Hitman, while also being inspired by my other hobbies of mixology and coffee brewing,” Alex shares. It’s a “fun-sized” nod to Kingdom of Loathing’s humor, inviting indie fans and “wine moms” to join the party.
