Indie game developer Nibble & Byte Game Studio has released a major demo update for their roguelite space-based RTS-like tower defense game, The Fall of Aether Station. The updated demo comes ahead of this February’s Steam Next Fest event.
Fight hordes of alien ships. Adapt tactics on dynamic battlefields as increasingly stronger enemy ships enter the battle. Command a fleet to victory and save Aether Station.
There are numerous enemy types and classes. Players will want to design their fleet to match the constantly changing battlefields. As a player tactic is deployed, the enemy pathing will take notice, learn, and try to counter.
Each defeated wave offers a chance to improve the fleet. Combat will level up the fleet and increase its effectiveness. A wide variety of customizable ships classes, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and hundreds of upgrades are available for players to experiment with and develop their strategies. Build and deploy static super weapons to ensure victory on the battlefield.
This demo update includes reinvented tech trees, rebalanced combat, and a new UI. The full game features 15 levels each with 60-plus waves of enemies.
We have been spending a lot of time with our playtesters and fans the last couple months. With all the feedback we got from the initial demo, we feel we have created something truly special and we can’t wait to share it with players.

The developer will be participating in the next Steam Next Fest that begins on February 5 and runs through February 12, 2024. More details about the game are expected to be revealed during this event.
