PM Studios and Pathea Games have released on Steam for PC their charming school management sim game, Let’s School. Coming from the same studio behind My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, this colorful and cozy low-poly indie title puts players in charge of the school.
As the new principal, players are tasked with rebuilding their alma mater. Entrusted by the old headmaster, the glorious task starts off by building a revitalized and stylish school. The new facilities will need to please faculty, staff, and students.
If I were a principal, I probably would have been fired for installing DDR cabinets in every home room. Thankfully, I’m a lot better at running a videogame publisher than running a school. But hopefully you guys are better than me at this game, because I keep getting dismissed by the school district for failing to have my kids’ grades up to snuff. Anyway – go buy Let’s School, please.
Mike Yum, PM Studios Founder and CEO
There is more than just building the appropriate educational facilities. Players will need to find a way to train teachers, recruit the brightest student minds, run extracurricular clubs, and do whatever else it takes to keep the school running and district happy.
Student’s have individual interests and plans for life. The individualism of students adds more challenges for the school’s principal. For example, the level of preparedness students are for their final exams.
Loads of in-game events and activities to explore alongside a robust customization system create an interesting and unique take on the simulation genre. Players can decide if they want to create a carefree comprehensive school or a rigourous elite academy. To pursue a strong learning environment, various means to manage student behavior are available. For example, teachers may be used to catch students who openly skip classes and mess around in town.
More campus content opens up with progression. Dormitories, cafeterias, sports fields, and snack shops are some of potential facilities. Various “wonders” can be built on the campus. In the end, as the principal, players can use as little or as much of their imagination to create a unique campus landscape where students are happy to be in school.
