Fireshine Games and Swedish game developer Pugstorm have released the free Paws & Claws Update for Core Keeper. For the very first time, pets are being introduced into the Early Access mining sandbox adventure.
Core Keeper Paws & Claws Update Details
Five all-new cuddly pet companions are now available for underground adventurers to collect. The new pets include the waggy-tailed Subterrier, floppy-eared Fanhare, fluffy-furred Embertail, oozy Jr Slimes, and the aerobatic Owlux.
Discover, hatch, and care for the new pet pals. By feeding and training the pets, they will gain experience and learn new skills. Fighting by the player’s side, pets will use their unique combat abilities against beasts that challenge explorers.
A brand new Meadow sub-biome is ready for exploration. New farm animals like Moolins, Bambucks, and the crustacean-like Strolly Poly are ready for discovery. Tending to these farm animals will reward players with useful materials such as milk, wool, and Strolly Poly plates.
Core Keeper’s Paws & Claws Update is our most exciting and adorable update yet, and we can’t wait for players to meet the new pets and get building in our new Creative Mode with today’s download. It’s been amazing fun to work on this update, and seeing the fan reaction to pets in our original trailer was an incredible moment. With an extensive range of new features and fan-requested additions, there’s never been a better time for players to hop into the game.
Fredrik Präntare, Chief Executive Officer & Creative Director at Pugstorm
Players are encouraged to explore their creative side in the powerful new Creative Mode. This passive building mode allows players to create their dream underground base. There is no need to gather resources or fend off enemy attacks.
New playable music from the hit indie titles Stardew Valley and Valheim are now available as discoverable music sheets in the game world. A brand new drumkit and piano allow players to jam alone or with friends. These two new instruments join the existing roster of fully-playable musical instruments.
Several community-requested features are being introduced in the update. Object rotation, a bucket, improved combat mechanics, and a new craftable glass material with refractive lighting effects are just a few of the features. A more detailed breakdown of content in the Paws & Claws Update can be found in this Steam post.
