Peacock announced via a press release the premiere date for the new live-action comedy Twisted Metal. Along with the premiere date announcement, Peacock also dropped the Twisted Metal Official Teaser trailer.
Full of high-octane comedic action, Twisted Metal takes viewers on a trek across an apocalyptic America. Looking for a better life, John Doe takes to the open road to deliver a mysterious package. With the help of an axe-wielding car thief, Doe will face a range of savage marauders driving their own destructive vehicles out on the open road.
All of the iconic elements from the game series is in the series. The cars, the weapons, and the battles. More importantly, the characters.
The charismatic hero of Twisted Metal, John Doe, is played by Anthony Mackie who is known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Quiet, an enigmatic woman and car thief, is played by Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Encanto). Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home) dons the mantle of Agent Stone, the psychotic highway patrolman who has a grudge against the government.
Professional wrestler Samoa Joe (Joe Seanoa) takes to the wheel as one of the most iconic characters from the video game franchise, Sweet Tooth. This spooky clown character, voiced by Will Arnett (Murderville and LEGO Masters), is a maniacal unhinged killer and has a lot of history in the game series. In the teaser, Sweet Tooth is seen inside of his iconic ice cream truck which should give fans a taste of what is in store for the series.
Several confirmed guest stars such as Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr., will more than likely leave a mark in the apocalyptic world setting.

Twisted Metal has a premiere date set for July 27, 2023, on Peacock, The first season consists of ten 30 minute episodes.
