Fireshine Games and developer Pugstorm have released a new content roadmap for their Early Access mining sandbox adventure Core Keeper. Next week the game will celebrate its first year in Early Access with a new Anniversary Update.
A new content roadmap for Core Keeper featuring a list of future updates and features coming to the game in 2023. The first update, titled Anniversary Update, will land next Wednesday, March 8, and will celebrate the first year of Early Access. This update features new seasonal items such as birthday hats and a birthday cake that permanently increases the player’s health.
Plus there is a new permanent music sheet for the indie hit Terraria. Those who find and equip the music sheet will allow explorers to play a track from the game using fully-playable musical instruments.
Later in March, the free Cherry Blossom Festival Update will arrive. New cherry trees and flowers will allow players to decorate their underground world.
An Easter Event is planned for April. This event will introduce new seasonal outfits, decorative items, and environmental effects.
We’re delighted to reveal our upcoming roadmap of content and announce the first details on our exciting Animal Update that we think players will love. We’ve been looking to introduce pets as a fun and meaningful mechanic to Core Keeper for a long time, and we’re excited to show them in action soon.

Scheduled for a spring release, the next major content for Core Keeper will introduce pets. Currently using the working Animal Update title, this update will allow players to discover, adopt, and care for a variety of animals. Players can find the perfect pet to be their companion for their underground adventures.
Another major content update using the working title, the Crystal Update, is planned for later this year. A brand-new crystal-based biome is part of the plans for this update. New locations, enemies, characters, materials, equipment, crafting options and a huge boss are some of the content planned for the Crystal Update.
More details on all the mentioned updates will be released in the future. Both Fireshine Games and Pugstorm have also confirmed plans to increase the price of the game. The increase is scheduled for a later date this spring.
As we approach one year in Early Access, we’d like to say an extra special thank you to all of our players for the incredible support they’ve shown us and the positive feedback the game has received. Thanks to their support, we’ve been able to grow Core Keeper in ways we’d never thought possible. But this isn’t everything we have in store for the game, and we’re looking forward to revealing even more as we edge closer to a 1.0 release.
