The Mistlands have arrived in Valheim! To accompany the Mistlands Update, the Coffee Stain Publishing and Iron Gate Studio developed title has released a special animated trailer produced by Brikk.
In the Valheim Mistlands update, players can expect to see a range of additions for the Early Access game. Right out the gate is the new Mistlands biome that features new enemies and a new boss, The Queen. To help traverse the new biome and clear the a path through the mist, players will want to utilize the Wisplight in either stationary form or one that follows them wherever they go.
Some new creatures can be found scattered across the lands. Both the Hare and Hen offer materials for crafting or cooking. Players can gather Hens and raise them getting eggs and chicks. While out venturing in the Mistlands, players can harvest the new mushrooms and then start their own mushroom farm back at home.
More than 20 new crafting materials have arrived in Valheim. Some examples include Black marble, Yggdrasil wood, Soft tissue, Royal jelly, Jotun puff, Raw seeker meat, Scale hide, and Mechanical spring. These new materials can be used to create many new items like the Arbalest, which is used with the new crossbow skill. Other crafted items include tools, a key, weapons, arrows, bolts, bombs, shields, armour sets, and more.
The Workstation: Black forge along with the Black forge cooler extension enables some of the new crafting recipes. In addition the Eitr refinery and the Galdr table along with Rune table extension further expand crafting.
Players will also discover that their Cauldron has a new extension, Mortar and pestle, offering up new yummy treats to consume. Cooked eggs, Cooked hare meat, Mushroom omelette, Yggdrasil porridge, and Minor eitr mead are just some of the hearty offerings. If these offerings are too heavy, there is always the Salad option.
Base builders can rejoice as a range of new building pieces and furniture objects are included in the update. From Angled Darkwood beams to Spiral stairs there are plenty of new items to aid players in their creative builds. Once the building is done, players can give that lived-in feeling by adding any of the new furniture items like the Black marble table or the Dvergr wall lantern.
In one’s travels new friendly and unfriendly NPCs may be found. These will fight on the player’s side as long as they are not upset at the player. Plus there is Munin the raven of lore to offer new insights.
Included in this update are new abilities, fishing changes, fixes and improvements, new dreams, new music, Infested mines dungeon and so much more. Previously Valheim released smaller updates that added the Frost Caves or added additional building options for the Hearth and Home.
