Independent game developer 3DIVISION released Update #11 for the soviet-themed cold war city builder and simulator, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic. This content update titled Tram, Metro and Realistic Mode puts the game ever closer to its full launch in 2023.
Content Update #11 for Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic introduces new metro and tram transport infrastructure. New surface metro and railway end stations enable players to better plan their public transportation networks. There are two surface metro stations with varied sizes available. The end station can be used for metro and normal trains.
The tram infrastructure additions include all the basic structures required for trams to operate such as big and small tram stops. There is also a new way to connect between tramrail road and rails. Pantographs of trams have been updated to make them properly connect to overhead wires on normal electrified railroads and tramrail roads.
To support the community, the much requested Realistic Mode has arrived. This optional mode brings an additional level of difficulty by making the game more systematic and management heavy. All options to purchase goods and vehicles inside facilities and to complete constructions using money have been removed in this mode. Players will need to play out their resource transportation networks as resources will no longer magically appear inside buildings.
Previously the game only supported square borders. Now the game supports Realistic Borders. This change allows players to edit their Republic’s border adding a new level of realism. In addition, the developer has developed the first map, Slovakia, using the new Realistic Borders feature. More details about this map can be found in this developer post here.
Other additions in Update #11 include a Water Erosion tool for the terrain editor. This tool will change the randomly generated terrain into more realistic terrain. Various other small gameplay adjustments and improvements have found their way into this content update. A more complete list of changes can be found on the game’s website here.
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic including Content Update #11 is available on Windows PC through Steam as an early access game for $34.99. The Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic soundtrack is also available for $2.99 and a Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic – Help for Ukraine DLC is available for $9.99.
