Devolver Digital and developer Massive Monster have released the Blood Moon Festival event for their disturbingly cute 2D woodland game, Cult of the Lamb.
Celebrate the spooky season of Halloween via Cult of the Lamb‘s Blood Moon Festival! This limited-time event begins on October 24 and will disappear back into the darkness on November 10, 2022.
Devotes can use the light of the Blood Moon to harvest pumpkins and unlock a brand new ritual. Former members of the cult can be raised as wondering spirits in the land of the living.
New follower forms and dreadful decorations are granted upon the capture of these spirits. A total of three new follower forms: the Cursed Crow, the Skeletal Deer, and the Bat Demon can be unlocked. Plus there are four new base decorations to unlock and a new music track.
A new trailer to celebrate the Blood Moon Festival is out and available for viewing below or on YouTube.
In the future more seasonal events will be introduced. Each will include their own special content. The development also announced that they are working on the first major content update which will focus on combat and expanding dungeon gameplay. When the update is ready it will be released for free.
Cult of the Lamb is available on Windows and Mac via Humble Bundle, Steam and GOG for $24.99. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox owners can also purchase the game for $24.99 from their respective console stores. For more information follow @cultofthelamb on Twitter visit cultofthelamb.com.
