Coffee Stain Publishing and Vaulted Sky Games have kicked off the final beta for their multiplayer hide-and-seek prop game, Midnight Ghost Hunt. It’s five minutes until minute, the van has arrived, and so begins the hunt.
This is the final beta before the game heads into early access. Lasting for only two days, March 28 and 29, players will have one final chance to experience Midnight Ghost Hunt before the worldwide early access launch on March 31, 2022. Players who are participating in the beta are reminded to update to the latest version.
Content creators and media outlets are no longer under an NDA with this final beta. Interested players who haven’t been able to score a beta key can now see all the Hunter and Ghost action.
The final Midnight Ghost Hunt beta features several new additions and changes. Quality of life game customization options have been added. Players can take more control of server settings such as banning certain weapons, randomizing loadouts, adjusting movements speeds, and more.
Flamethrowers are now classified as heavy weapons. Players will see their movement speed take a hit while the flamethrower is equipped. The previously seen burn it all down tactic is no longer viable. Grenade cooking has been introduced. Self-damage will now be inflicted if the cooked grenade is not thrown in time or if a player is standing too close to the explosion.
Two new hero props: T-Rex Head and Skeleton can be found in-game. To prevent any spoilers, players will have to find these new props on their own and figure out what they do. Five new emotes are available for players to express themselves. Plus 13 new victory poses are available to unlock. New Hunter skins have arrived and some of the existing skins have been reworked. Players can now work towards earning the 29 titles and unlocking 42 achievements.
Players can now experience the fully updated and realistic van ride as they head towards the haunted location. Other changes include a recent players list and accessibility options. All of the available details on this final closed beta test are located in the March 24, 2022, dev blog post.
To request access to the Midnight Ghost Hunt final beta, interested players will need to visit the game’s Steam page and click the Request Access button. Players are also encouraged to join the game’s Discord.
Midnight Ghost Hunt has an early access release date set for March 31, 2022 on Steam. The game will be priced at $19.99 and available on Windows PC.
