UK based developer Dovetail Games self-published their immersive single player locomotive sim Train Simulator 2022 on PC. Available on Steam this edition features a new collection of updated routes, officially licensed locomotives, fast loading times, and a Deluxe Edition includes the new Bahnstrecke Strasbourg – Karlsruhe route.
Taking control of powerful iconic locomotives players can take to the tracks of the world and master the operations of these trains. For example players can operate the BR Class 323 on the Birmingham Cross City Line or control the DB BR 429.1 FLIRT 3 on Frankfurt – Koblenz route. Amtrak’s Acela, the fastest US commuter train, is available with the NEC Washington DC route.
Both passengers and freight can be delivered to their destinations with a full timetable of real-world services and scenarios. With the release of Train Simulator 2022, community feedback over the past year has allowed the developers to add significant updates dramatically improving load times. All routes included in the sim along with add-ons will now load and perform better than previous versions.
The base game features three detailed real-world routes: Northeast Corridor: Washington DC – Baltimore in the United States, Frankfurt – Koblenz in Germany, and Birmingham Cross City Line: Lichfield – Bromsgrove & Redditch in the United Kingdom. A total of 11 officially licensed locomotives are available to drive.
Train Simulator 2022 is available on Windows PC through Steam for $29.99 USD. A Train Simulator 2022 Deluxe Edition is available that includes the Bahnstrecke Strasbourg – Karlsruhe Route DLC is available on Steam for $49.99 USD.
