Mastiff and indie developer MeNic Games released their unique toy city builder, Tinytopia, on PC for Windows and Mac gamers. Delivering a playful combination of traditional city-building with replica real-world cities like Paris, Tokyo, and New York City, the game also features various physics-based toy challenges.
Players are now the mayor of Tinytopia. It is up to them to build flourishing towns and cities for the citizens. Various cute catastrophes such as tornadoes, fires, monster attacks, and UFOs will cause the need for protection of the tiny citizens. Of course there is always the option to flip a switch and watch the whole place come crumbling down.
Before players get to the catastrophes they will need to build a city. Using a blend of of city-building and physics-based challenges players can create their own digital desktop destinations across 24 levels. Some of the challenges include balancing cities on a seesaw, keeping a stable town on a spinning turntable, or building a town on a set of rotating bicycle pedals.
Physics is not just at the heart of the challenges, it also plays a critical role in building the buildings themselves. All of the miniature building blocks include physics-based mechanics. These blocks can be combined and stacked on top of each other to form epic megastructures. Over 80 building blueprints are available for discovery. Using the collection of toy structures, tools, and services, players can create their own Tinytopia.
Tinytopia is available now on PC for Windows and Mac users through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG for $14.99 USD. A 10% launch week discount is available until September 6, 2021. The game will be available on the Microsoft Store for PC on September 27, 2021 and Linux support will become available in the near future.
