Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Hit the Early Access Beat

German developer Aesir Interactive and publisher astragon Entertainment are patrolling the streets with the early access release of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. Supported with a game-grant of the German funding body FilmFernsehFonds Bayern the simulation project puts players in the role of a police officer in a fictional city the United States.

Set in the fictional metropolis of Brighton, USA, players are asked to protect law and order. Players can choose from 8 different characters and take on the role of a male or female police officer. In this role, one will go on patrol in the first city district. Starting in the neighborhood of North Point, players will collect shift points and duty stars by completing their patrols and shifts which will unlock four more neighborhoods, new tasks, and equipment.

Initially one’s patrol will be walking the beat. Players will look out for parking offenders, speeders, and suspicious persons. When completing tasks, one will want to adhere to the rules of law as police misconduct or violence will result in the loss of shift points and even termination. With good work and performance, players can get behind the wheel of their first patrol car. The city of Brighton offers a varied urban landscape that creates an authentic complex city simulation experience.

With the early access release, players are also asked to contribute their ideas and wishes to the ongoing development of the game in the coming weeks and months. An official roadmap has been published on the Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Trello board. Information about the future content planned for the game is listed on the roadmap and gamers are given the opportunity to vote for their favorite features.
