Indie Russian developer Team Rez and publisher Valkyrie Initiative have released the Orange Cast Prologue for their upcoming sci-fi space RPG action game Orange Cast. The story tells saga about a space cold war in Russian with English subtitles.
It is now the year 2046 and a space cold war is in full effect. All of the great nations have colonized Mars where they have constructed massive space fleets. Brave players who dare enter the vastness of space will find themselves as an elite space trooper of humanity or rather Uber-Unit who is ready to answer the call to action.
Players awaken during the attack on Sion Colony, find themselves in the midst of the chaos surrounded by unknown coalition forces. Civilians are dying, the colonies defenses failing and communications are wiped out. In this Soviet and Western science fiction adventure players will lead the investigation into what is happening and what is threatening all of humankind.
In the main game there is always something for players to do. Action-packed shoot-outs or old-fashioned space exploration there is plenty in the universe to seek out. Dialogs, story choices, and secondary quests all help to explore the game’s lore. Each of these elements are connected so that they play off of each other to deliver a unique gameplay experience inspired by James S.A. Corey’s The Expanse series.
Previously the Orange Cast Prologue demo was released on Itch.io and has since been pulled down with the release of the prologue on Steam. Players interested in playing the Orange Cast Prologue can download the game from its Steam page.

Valkyrie Initiative (@ValkyrieInitia1 Twitter) is a Russian video game publisher with a focus on indie game titles with a decade of experience on Steam. Previously the studio has helped publish titles such as Demoniaca: Everlasting Night and Hippocampus. Currently the company is working on Card Blitz: WWII and Orange Cast.
