Last week the post-apocalyptic turn-based game Dreadlands from Blackfox Studios and Fatshark, exited early access and now has a free demo available. Gamers can now dip their toes into the combat filled world before buying.
Set in a living post-apocalyptic shared world, players get to explore and often fight their way across the Dreadlands. Players are accompanied by their fellow gang members who are a motley group of miscreants and mercenaries. From bloody PvP battles to cooperation with others for resources are just a part of the unpredictability of shared world gameplay.
The demo gives players a great opportunity to see the amount of work we’ve put into enhancing the player experience based on the amazing feedback from the player community during Early Access. Visuals, U.I, balancing, passive and active skills as well as weapons and more have all undergone a nip and tuck to make Dreadlands a competitive turn-based tactical skirmish game.

The game features a comic-like art style within a very detailed post-apocalyptic environment. Each battle contains turn-based tactical combat within a free action point system where players can freely move, attack and use abilities however they decide. A morale system keeps all battle participants in check that can be used to break enemies, however can also cause problems within a player’s rank.
Players control the destiny of their gang with XP gains by completing in-match challenges or selecting a match MVP at the end. The tactics card system allows players to deploy unique powers that change the flow of the battle and even the eventual outcome.
Dreadlands is now available on Windows PC through Steam or Humble Bundle for $24.99 USD. The free demo is also available on download and try on the game’s Steam page. More information about Dreadlands can be found on the game’s website at playdreadlands.com, by following @playdreadlands on Twitter, or by joining the official Dreadlands Discord.
