After nearly 15 years a sequel to the cult classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines has been announced with the upcoming 2020 title Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.
In late October 2015, publisher Paradox Interactive purchased White Wolf Publishing and all of its intellectual properties. This purchase included the World of Darkness universe which is where Vampire the Masquerade is set. The original game was published by now defunct developer Troika Games.
Bloodlines 2 was announced late Thursday evening at GDC, Game Developers Conference by Seattle based developer Hardsuit Labs along with Paradox Interactive.
The new game is set in Seattle and is focus around an event called the “Mass Embrace,” when several new vampires were created. Players enter this world as a character who is one of these new vampires from this event. In the World of Darkness creating new vampires without approval is bad. As in very bad.
Similar to the first game the player is brought before a court of vampire VIPs to tell their version of events of the Mass Embrace before they are executed. Before the task is done the player is saved by the court being firebombed.
Players are left to fend for themselves in Seattle struggling to learn how to be a vampire while learning who was responsible for the event.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is available for pre-order now for PC with console pre-orders coming at a later date. More information can be found on the games website at bloodlines2.com.
