Zen Studios is getting ready to launch Operencia: The Stolen Sun by the end of the month and in doing so dropped a story trailer.
In the Operencia story trailer viewers are treated immediately with a visual of the world before and after then sun. The video’s narration is provided by the character Jóska. As a “completely honest and in no way untrustworthy” rogue ally, Jóska who also is the very first character players will come across.
The world itself is dark and somewhat gloomy since the sun was stolen. But even in all the darkness and various enemy creatures rising from the underworld trying to kill everyone, the world presents a rather beautiful false serenity.
As an unconventional RPG fantasy world, Operencia combines world history with legend using countless Central European folktales into a single universe. Additional depth is added with real-life historical figures populating the game’s world with characters such as King Attila and his wife Réka. Storied real world landmarks to common fairy tale settings dot the landscape of Operencia.
The game features a deep strategic turn-based combat system with spells and special skills. Tile-based movement encourages thorough exploration of the 13 maps. Cut scenes are hand-drawn and 2D character portraits help bring the story alive along with more than 30 fully voiced characters.
Operencia: The Stolen Sun is coming to Xbox One and the Epic Games store on March 29, 2019. For more information visit the games website at operenciarpg.com.
