The fast-paced multiplayer shooter from 1047 Games, Splitgate: Arena Warfare, added several enhancements and improvements before its upcoming closed alpha test. In Splitgate: Arena Warfare players can use portals they control to create a whole new dimension of arena combat.
An Alpha 1.0 Reveal trailer for Splitgate: Arena Warfare was dropped on YouTube. The trailer highlights four overhauled maps Olympus, Outpost, Helix, and Club Silo. A revamped animation system, major audio improvements, character and gun skin customization, and a new game mode Team SWAT are highlighted.
The previously mention map overhauls and improvements will be featured during this playtest along with the Savage Rail Gun. Similar to classic arena shooters, the new rail gun when fired with a fully-charged shoot will obliterate opponents in one hit.
Team SWAT mode is also available for testing where players will compete head-to-head. The mode is limited to only battle rifles and pistols. Players should not expect armor to save them from extreme damage multipliers and headshots.
The in game sound has been overhauled with help from Mad Monkey Audio of Los Angeles. With the overhaul the game now takes full advantage of the Unreal Engine’s audio system to provide precise location for detection for in game sounds. Players will notice subtle changes in pitch and the prioritization of sounds over others such as enemy gunshots over muffled friendly footsteps.
The upcoming Closed Alpha is scheduled to start at 12 PM Saturday, January 26 and run until 11:59 PM Sunday, January 27. Players already confirmed for the Splitgate: Arena Warfare pre-alpha are guaranteed a spot during this playtest. New players can sign up to join the Closed Alpha at the 1047 Games website.
