Madmind Studios, the studio behind Agony, announced their next game project. Paranoid is a survival-horror game with a psychologically deep story and brutally dynamic gameplay.
Paranoid, set in the 1980s, tells the story of a 31 year old man named Patrick Calman. He has suffered a great deal of trauma with the loss of his family. His parents died violently and his sister went missing under mysterious circumstances. The trauma of the losses mentally destroyed him and he became a prisoner in his own apartment.
Thirteen years after his sister’s disappearance, Patrick receives a phone call. The person on the other end seems to be his sister who announces her return. In order to find the truth, Patrick will have to leave his secluded life. He will face horrific experiences that will test his sanity.
The game puts the player in a constant battle between paranoia and reality. Players face off against terrify opponents and drug abusing mechanics in a disturbing atmosphere of combined psychosis and surrealism. Depending on the style of gameplay there are three endings.
Paranoia has been in development for some time and will feature cinematic cutscenes. The developers have made it clear that this game will feature high impact horror scenes of gore and violence.
A release date has yet to be announced. The game will be available on Steam for the PC.
