Publisher Top Hat Studios and developer Kyle Thompson have set an August release date for their upcoming atmospheric Metroidvania title, Crypt Custodian. Clean up the afterlife on both PC and consoles when this cute and charming indie title globally launches.
Play as Pluto, a mischievous cat who has died and entered the Afterlife’s Palace. After upsetting Kendra, the Afterlife Guardian, Pluto has been regulated to janitorial duty for all eternity.
There is a vast expansive landscape waiting to be explored. Battle beasts, find hidden secrets, puzzles to solve, and meet curious citizens of the afterlife. With seemingly infinite nooks and crannies, there are plenty of areas to explore and rumors to hear. One such rumor is that of a priceless treasure hidden deep within the palace that may allow communication with the living.
During Pluto’s janitorial escapades, one will hang out with other naughty ghosts who live outside the palace. Head to the local dive, The Sinner’s Inn, and chat with ghosts, upgrade gear, and learn about the past stories of fellow ghosts.
With a world full of varied, vivid, and vibrant interconnected biomes, there are plenty of areas with ruined dungeons for Pluto to clean. In these dungeons new upgrades and abilities can be collected. Mix and match upgrades to customize one’s playstyle by expanding combat and aiding world exploration.
Combat is fast-paced and based on a system of dodging and quick movements with rapid strategic attacks. Confront Kendra and battle epic bosses while discovering the many curiosities of the afterlife.
