Merdian4 and indie developer Kinderril have released the real-time tactical space sim that features RPG-lite elements, Edge Of Galaxy, on the Epic Games Store and GOG. In July 2021, the game had previously launched on Steam for PC.
In Edge Of Galaxy, players take on the role of mercenary fleet commander. From hiring and managing a small fleet of ships to fighting battles across space, players will need to plan accordingly if they are to rise through the ranks.
Each opportunity brings a new chance at glory. Indirect control makes players think ahead and adjust their strategy accordingly. With an advanced system of various weapons and modules, players can adjust their spaceships to suit their needs and their tactics. Experience and ranks are gained through battle that are in turn used to improve the ships in the fleet.
A total of five different playable factions with unique traits and abilities are available for play. There are five different campaigns and a exploration game mode with small maps. Depending on the parameters of the fleet or commander there are different ways to complete the text-based quests. The one-life mode features a randomly generated world making each game unique.
Seeing Edge Of Galaxy available on The Epic Games Store and GOG is very exciting. I’ve been a fan of both stores for a long time, so I am thrilled that my game will be on their platforms.Kinderril, Edge Of Galaxy Developer
