Indie game studio Pendopo and publisher Hitcents announced today the official release of Rendezvous: Shadows of the Past on Steam. This prequel to the upcoming Rendezvous is free to play.
Using a cyber-noir setting, Rendezvous tells the story of a guy living in an authoritarian metropolis in the year 2064. Setyo, the story’s protagonist, is trying to forget his haunting past as an ex-agent. To save his sister, he must return the dystopian city of Neo-Surabaya. From drones to street punks, the story presents tense action and requires the player to observe the world around them to find clues and solve puzzles.
Rendezvous means so much for Pendopo since it’s our first big project. By telling a personal story of familial ties with cyberpunk and noir tropes, we hope to bring Indonesian cultures to the global gaming community, a corner of the world that is usually underrepresented.Pendopo Development Team
