Valheim November Development Blog, Small Content Patch Released

The developers over at Iron Gate Studio have released a November Development Blog update for Valheim along with a small content patch for the Coffee Stain Publishing title. A lot of changes are in store for the Mistlands update and something is happening now in the swamps biome.

Good news Valheim players, Iron Gate Studio is now aiming for the big Mistlands update according to their November Development Blog post. In a previous blog post readers were treated with a glimpse of what the terrain texture will look like. Since then a lot has happened and the landscape is starting to take shape with the mist rolling in. Now one has to wonder what is lurking in the mist?

A sneak peak at some other content the studio is working on. In October the developer showed off some concept art of another future update which many correctly guessed as caves for the mountain biome. These caves may have some lupine inhabitants. Screenshots for both the Mistlands and mountain cave are viewable below. Note that these areas are still in development and what is seen are not the final versions.

In the latest small content patch there are a few bug fixes of note. Items that auto-stack and then disappear in multiplayer games should no longer vanish. Some player animation transition fixes have been added including a jump animation issue. Monsters will properly wake up if hit by a ranged attack. Location music transition fixes are included along with the swamps music seeing a volume adjustment.

Warning spoilers ahead.

This small patch adds a whole new armor set. The set appears to be an armor set between bronze and iron. To craft the new set players will have to gather a new material, roots, which can only be found off of a new enemy, Abomination, that is lurking in the swamps biome. A three piece set bonus of +15 bow is granted when equipped. In addition the helm offers resist vs poison while the body offers resist vs pierce and -2% movement speed and legs a -2% movement speed. All three pieces are weak vs fire. Only a level 2 workbench is needed along with ancient bark and deer hide or leather scraps depending upon the item.
