Headup Games and developer Goody Gameworks are unleashing Kaiju monster chaos on PC with the full launch release of Gigapocalypse. In the early access exit, new monsters, new maps, and a temporary 33% discount are available for this indie 2D arcade-like monster fighter.
Inspired by classic Kaiju monster films like Godzilla and King King along with classic arcade hits like Rampage, Gigapocalypse gives players access to a roster of monsters or rather “Gigas” that they will use to destroy various pixelized cities and locales. While players are unleashing their monster apocalypse on unsuspecting cities and heavy metal soundtrack will accompany the devastation.
Each run give players a chance to reach the given location’s boss and the ability to earn mutation points. Spending these points allows players to upgrade their Giga with new mutations, skills, skins, and minion pets who accompany the urban destruction. Tamagotchi-style minigames allow players to provide care for their Giga and even decorate their home with interesting items that improve the monster.
In the full release three now Gigas have been added: Khong’ Gho, Annonam and Ezer. These three come from “The Old Gods” and join the three prehistoric monstrosities and three horrors from outer space. Two new maps Metro Dome and Eternal City add more to the various locations ripe for total devastation.
It’s been great to see the positive reactions to Gigapocalypse as we’ve added more and more to it throughout the game’s time in Early Access. That reception has only made us more excited for today’s full release and we hope people are looking forward to picking a Giga and laying waste to everything in front of them!Goody Pundit, Gigapocalypse Developer
Gigapocalypse is available on Windows PC through Steam for $9.99 USD. A full release 33% discount promotion runs until November 17, 2021. Currently the Gigapocalypse demo is available on the game’s Steam page. For more information visit the game’s Steam page.
