Team17 and developer Unicube launched on PC their resource management survival game Sheltered 2. Building upon the original 2016 survival game, Sheltered, this follow up brings revamped combat systems, a new 3D art style, and punishing challenges.
New challenges and deeper strategic gameplay await players who face off against the perennial threat of extinction at the world’s end. Both internal and external hazards threaten players in the wasteland as it is an unforgiving place full of dangers. As the faction leader, players are responsible for making sure resources are managed and survivors are happy and fed. Survivors have their own personalities, traits, desires, and skills to acquire with the ability to customize each individually allowing for unique characters. Relationships with rival factions must be maintained if one hopes to survive the brutal world.
Unlike the original, Sheltered 2 introduces the faction leader. This is the most important member of the shelter that has their own unique trait along with powerful other traits. Pivotal to the groups success, death of a faction leader means the game is over.
Starvation, asphyxiation, extreme temperatures, and combat are just a handful of the threats and challenges of the wasteland. A variety of skills combines with the ability to build parties of four allow for the targeting of specific body parts on enemies. This strategic combat style allows for the most damage possible allowing for victory. Each action has a stamina cost so one will need to plan out their moves to ensure they survive.
Sheltered 2 is available on Windows PC through Humble Bundle, Steam, and GOG for $19.99 USD. A special 10% off launch promotion runs until September 28, 2021. For more information about Sheltered 2 follow @Sheltered_Game on Twitter or visit the game’s page on the publisher’s website here.
